Tentative Dates for Swim Season Fall 2021

Tentative Dates for Swim Season Fall 2021
August 31, 2021

Dear Team and Parents,
HELLO! I know it’s been a while since you received an email from me. Many of you have reached out and when we see each other in the neighborhood or a store, you stopped to say hello and give a few hugs because you miss swimming so much. I love it! Thank you.
Unfortunately we have not received any news since the pandemic started until now.
We MAYBE will have the pool and a team for this season. πŸ€žπŸ™ I spoke to Father West and he gave a proposal to the Dioceses and it is under review, he said
it looks promising.
That being said I am being optimistic and am beginning to plan some dates for TRYOUTS and the start of the season.
Also we have dates for OLYMPICS AND CHAMPS.
SAVE THE DATES!
BOYS: Nassau County Aquatic Center’s pool for December 18th (Olympics) and January 8th (Champs).
GIRLS: Nassau County Aquatic Center’s pool for March 26th (Olympics) and April 2nd (Champs).

THESE DATES ARE TENTATIVE:
SUNDAY SEPT 12 -TRYOUTS 8AM
MONDAY SEPT 13 – REGISTRATION 7PM
SUNDAY SEPT 19 – FIRST PRACTICE 7AM.

Unfortunately there are many unknowns. It’s been 2 years! We don’t know who is coming back. Those Novices that were aging up will now be Juniors! People move onto other sports or just move out.
Please spread the word to those you think will be interested.
Remember that our graduating age is 14 yrs. old and we take them as early as 5 yrs old.
We also need help. My daughter was one of those who graduated with nothing. It is heartbreaking and a separate email will go out in reference to all those Seniors that aged out during the pandemic. That being said, we lost many of the parents that helped because their child was on the team. AS ALWAYS we need parents to step up and help out. This is a VOLUNTEER PROGRAM. No one gets paid, but the reward is great!
Please let’s collectively pray that these dates come to fruition! I will keep you posted.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!

Best Regards,
Coach Leni

My son would like to try out- he’s 11yrs old. He would be new to the program. We live in Greenpoint. He’s never been on a swim team before. What would he need to bring to try outs?
